Lisa Tipton

Dr. Lisa Tipton shares her passion for Chamber Music wearing several hats as mentor, teacher, conductor and administrator.  This season marks Lisa's 17th year as the Artistic Director of the award winning New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music program.  Through the NYYS CMP, Lisa annually mentors over 90 young artists 15 professional coaches, a managerial staff and oversees the production of 35 events which include masterclasses with world class chamber music artists, workshops, studio classes, community outreach performances and formal concerts at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space and The National Arts Club. This past season Lisa launched the Unsung Chamber Music series on YouTube, a NYYS repertoire initiative to feature composers from diverse cultures.  Lisa coaches chamber music and conducts a string orchestra at The School for Strings.  Recently she coached and performed at festivals throughout the United States and Europe serving chamber players from ages 5 to 90 at the The Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute,  New York Summer Music Festival in Oneonta, New York, Princeton Playweek in Virginia, the Raphael Trio Workshop in New Hampshire and the Weinberg Kammermusik Festival in Austria.
